White House Bed and Breakfast

Centrally located between the grandeur of Mt. Rainier and the lush Yakima Valley wine country, the White House Bed & Breakfast makes for the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Quiet, beautiful and comforting. Enjoy a wonderful special breakfast or lunch from a delightful menu. Special group dinners available upon request.

This wonderful white farmhouse built in 1929 by a Yakima fruit farmer and his wife, Swede and Arlene Kern. Acres of apples, pears, peaches and cherries are all gone now, but the house built in 1929 remains architecturally beautiful and quietly serene. The downstairs is now a Restraurant/Gift Shop (all original), and the upstairs is a wonderful Bed & Breakfast with soft white antique linens, fresh flowers and beautiful music. Please take a peek; you'll love what you see! The Kern home has been preserved and care has been taken to keep it original.

Run of the River

Run of the River, a Leavenworth, Washington bed and breakfast, is the ideal getaway location for anyone who is interested in seeing Washington state at its best. The Inn and Refuge rests on a high water channel of the Icicle River - about a half-mile upriver from the Bavarian town of Leavenworth, WA. We are a luxury inn surrounded on two sides by Washington Department of Wildlife bird refuge, home to deer, coyote, and the occasional bear and elk. It's a birder's paradise, where guests regularly spy great blue heron, osprey, owls, kingfishers, geese and a variety of ducks.

Wok About Grill

The story goes like this...centuries ago in the province of Mongolia, hunting parties and warriors would prepare fruits, herbs, slivers of meat, cut with the sword edge, together with a special combination of vegetables, incense, spices and sauces, and grill their meals on upturned shields. The meat was carved from the animals killed during the day's hunt. They piled their food high upon their war shields, and cooked them over large bonfires on a hot griddle. This stir fry style feast, became a natural way of eating from day to day.

This tradition food preparation is called Mongolian barbecue and is followed today by restaurants that prepare food using solid iron griddle that is as large as 3 feet in diameter and can cook at temperatures as high as 300 degrees C.

Wok About Grill is located at 110 N. Wenatchee Ave. in downtown Wenatchee. We are conviently located across the street from the Performing Arts Center.
